Bach is an astronomer, discovering the most marvellous stars. Beethoven challenges the universe. I only try to express the soul and the heart of man.
Chopin
I started playing classical piano when I was 28 years old.
I had the pleasure of taking lessons with Jiayin Shen at Peabody institute.
We studied selected pieces by Chopin, including:
Prelude in E minor
Nocture Op.9 no 1
Fantasie Impromptu
Etude Op25, no 12
I worked on Revolutionary Etude with Kimberly Kong and
I am currently working with Sungpil Kim on Ballade no 1.
I like and constantly listen to all Chopin's Etudes. Specifically:
-Op 25, no 11
-Op 10, no 1
-Op 10, no 4
-Nouvelle etude, no 1
Chopin Etudes are best played by Murray Perahia, in my opinion.
Leopold Godowsky has his own version of the Chopin's etudes. These are much more difficult to play and most often they are written for 1 hand!
Check out Francesco Libetta playing Chopin-Godowsky Revolutionary Etude.
